K1N QSL Update

For those of you who worked the Navassa Island DXpedition earlier this year, here is an update about QSL cards, LoTW uploads, etc from N2OO who is handling QSLing for the team:

N2OO – Callsign Lookup by QRZ.COM
NOTICE: K1N NAVASSA
March 16, 2015: Current QSL status for K1N: The QSL design is almost ready to go to the printer. We just had our first incoming MAIL opening party at my QTH. 14 SJDXA QSL team members took 7 hours to open and sort 14 mail trays of QSL mail (which included some of my non-K1N QSL requests). LoTW: An LoTW upload was made for all “pre-depature” advance early donors (donations made pre-January 30) as a THANK YOU for their early support. Most of the big expenses must be paid during the planning stages of a DXpedition like K1N. These expenses included a big helicopter contract deposit and shipping container freight charges, among others. Donations in advance is what makes DXpeditions like K1N possible. Further early LoTW uploads are being considered. But no set schedule has been made just yet. But I anticipate that everyone who requests a QSL card will get early LoTW uploads at some point. Many have asked for only an LoTW upload and no card. This will not happen. Our sponsors deserve recognition for their support. As such, the mailed QSL card will include appropriate recognition of the corporate, foundation, club and individual sponsors.

A full final LoTW upload will be made by September 2015.

OQRS details can be found on the Navassa website.www.navassadx.com
The following QSL Methods will be available for K1N:

THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE DXPEDITION! AS SUCH, PLEASE CONSIDER ADDING A CONTRIBUTION WITH YOUR QSL REQUEST. CHECKS CAN BE MADE OUT TO “KP1-5 PROJECT” IF INCLUDED WITH YOUR QSL CARD.
