I got my license in 2007, originally KJ4BEE, finally upgrading to extra at a GARA sponsored VE session in Greensboro in 2010. Since then I’ve had some peaks and lulls in my radio life, but recently I have been very active. I’m interested in DXing, QSO parties and Contests on HF. I love exploring software defined radios in several different forms. On VHF and UHF I like to explore the new technologies that are represented in the various digital voice and data modes.

Upon moving back to Greensboro from VA in late 2013 I was heartily welcomed back to town by GARA and enjoyed the camaraderie and healthy competition that I found in the local GARA club members. Naturally when I was approached to serve on the Board as VP I felt it was an honor to do so and have enjoyed serving the club as best I can since then. It’s been a learning process, for sure, but I see the club moving in a positive direction and I am very excited about what the future holds for GARA.

  • I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical… It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government.
