2026 ARRL Field Day with GARA

Plan now to join the Greensboro Amateur Radio Association for our 2026 ARRL Field Day activities! Everyone is welcome whether you are a GARA member or not. You don’t even need to be a licensed amateur!

Setup will commence Friday, June 26 starting at 2 PM at Todd Huffine’s, KO4KWD house. We will be putting up antennas, setting up the solar cells and batteries, and will start setting up the radios.

Field day operations will start at 2PM Saturday June 27 and end at 2PM Sunday June 28.  We will be operating two HF radio stations (Class 2A) and possibly a 6M station. Several of us will be camping out Friday and Saturday and we hope you will consider joining us both for camping and operating during the event. There are full bathroom facilities at Todd’s house. We have the opportunity to collect several 100 point bonuses for various activities and can use your help to collect them!

As a reminder, there will be no formal June GARA general meeting since Field Day activities are in lieu of that.

The GARA Picnic will be held in conjunction with Field Day activities and will start at noon on Saturday, June 27. You must register and pay in advance if you’d like to participate.  Lunch meals are $5 each and you can register and pay on our website at https://www.w4gso.org/news/gara-picnic-registration/ .  Please register by Friday, June 26 so we know how much food to purchase.
